England rule out injured Feyi-Waboso from Springboks clash

LONDON (AP) — England ruled out injured winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso from the clash with world champion South Africa at Twickenham next weekend.

Feyi-Waboso suffered a head injury on Saturday while trying to prevent Australia from scoring a try in the 50th minute of the 42-37 defeat, and was withdrawn from the squad on Sunday.

The second loss in two matches of England’s autumn series has taken a heavy toll. Flanker Tom Curry was already confirmed as unavailable after he was knocked out in the act of making a tackle against the Wallabies.

Bath’s Ted Hill has been called up as back row cover in Curry’s absence. Ben Curry and Sam Underhill will compete for the No. 7 jersey against the Springboks.

Sale’s Tom Roebuck was summoned to provide a back three alternative to Feyi-Waboso. Ollie Sleightholme, who crossed twice as a replacement against the Wallabies, was in pole position to take over from Feyi-Waboso.
